PetroIran Executives Mourn Lebanese Cleric Nasrallah After Beirut Attack
Date:5/7/2025

TEHRAN, Oct 1 (PEDCO) – Senior executives from Iran’s PetroIran Development Company (PEDCO) issued a joint statement on Monday condemning the fatal attack in Beirut that reportedly killed Lebanese cleric Ayatollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, calling it a “terrorist act” and expressing both condolences and admiration for the Hezbollah leader’s legacy.

The message, released by the group’s public relations office, described Nasrallah as a “brave leader and distinguished mujahid (fighter),” whose life was marked by unwavering dedication to resistance against what they termed “oppression and occupation.

” It emphasized that he had long been prepared for martyrdom and had “sacrificed his loved ones” in pursuit of that cause. While the circumstances surrounding Nasrallah’s reported death have not been independently confirmed, the statement reflected a broader sentiment of mourning and resolve common among Iran’s political and military leadership, who have long supported Hezbollah as part of the regional “Axis of Resistance.

” “His lofty and heavenly soul, which never rested in its relentless jihad and loyalty to his covenant with God, has now ascended,” the message read.

Quoting a verse from the Qur’an referring to those who have fulfilled their pledge to God, the executives said that Nasrallah had “joined his fellow martyrs.” Despite describing the cleric’s death as a painful loss for Lebanon and the wider resistance movement, the PEDCO message insisted that “the ship will reach its destined shore” and that the movement’s progress would not be halted.

The letter concluded with condolences addressed to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Lebanese nation, the Islamic world, and especially Nasrallah’s family and close companions. Iran has long considered Hezbollah a key ally in the region, and any confirmed attack on its top leadership could trigger wider regional reactions.

As of this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
