TEHRAN, March 15 (PEDCO) — PetroIran Development Company (PEDCO) has held an appreciation ceremony to mark the successful drilling and commissioning of the first gas well in the South Pars Infill project, the company said on Saturday.
The event was hosted at the DCI company site and attended by Dr. Ali Daghayeghi, PEDCO CEO, senior executives from Drilling International Ltd., project managers, and operational staff.
The ceremony began with a detailed report on the project’s execution process.
Dr. Daghayeghi praised the collaborative efforts of the teams involved, emphasizing the strategic importance of the Infill project for boosting Iran’s gas production.
“Initiating the first of nine planned Infill wells marks a major step toward expanding the country’s gas output,” he said. “Drilled from platform SPD12B05, this well has now entered the production phase thanks to the efforts of DCI2 rig crews and project management teams.
”
The CEO noted that the first well alone is expected to add 2 million cubic meters per day to Iran’s gas production capacity.
He also highlighted the project as a symbol of the technical competence and self-reliance of Iranian oil and gas professionals.
“This achievement proves that, with local expertise and determination, even the most complex projects can be delivered successfully,” Daghayeghi added.
