TEHRAN, May 7 (PEDCO) -- Ali Daghayeghi, CEO of PetroIran Development Company (PEDCO), along with senior executives from Drilling International Limited (DCI), visited the DCI-1 drilling rig at the Dorood Oil Field.
During the visit, the operational performance, safety measures, and equipment maintenance of the rig were reviewed, emphasizing the importance of human resources and equipment modernization.
Daghayeghi, accompanied by Gholamhossein Golkar, CEO of DCI, the drilling operations vice president, technical affairs vice president, HSE manager, human resources manager, and marine support services head, traveled by sea from the port of Bushehr to the Dorood Oil Field, located in the Khark region.
They toured the DCI-1 drilling rig.
The DCI-1 rig, a 300-foot jack-up type built in 2011, joined DCI’s fleet in 2011 and has since been involved in several major projects, including Phase 20 of South Pars, the Siri project, and the Ilam, Esfandiar, Balan, and Forouzan oil fields.
The rig is currently engaged in drilling operations at the Dorood Oil Field, in cooperation with the Iranian Offshore Oil Company.
Upon arrival, the senior safety officer of the rig presented a safety report, highlighting emergency response protocols and the rig's record of 675 days without lost-time incidents (LTI).
The rig manager then provided a report on current operations, maintenance activities, and future plans for equipment servicing.
During the visit, Daghayeghi and his team toured various sections of the rig, including the generator maintenance area, where they were briefed on the operational processes, challenges, strengths, and areas for improvement.
At the conclusion of the visit, Daghayeghi held a constructive meeting with the staff, emphasizing the key role of human resources as the company’s primary asset. He listened to employees’ suggestions and reiterated the importance of overcoming operational challenges and modernizing drilling rig equipment, offering necessary guidance for future improvements.
