The Foroozan Oil Field is located in the Persian Gulf. This Field is one of the common fields located in the marine boundary of Iran and Saudi Arabia, 100 km south west of Kharg Island.
Development plan of this field consists of basic and detailed engineering, construction, installation and commissioning of offshore facilities and related pipelines. In according to NIOC approval on 2009/03/05, Foroozan and Esfandiar oil field development project's finance has changed from Buy-Back to internal resources based on the new contract. This project is forecasted to complete in 36 months. Production of the field has commenced in 1975 after execution of early 1970's development plan.
Project Objectives:
- Enhancement of the field production capacity by 65,000 bbl/pd for exportation to kharg Island
- Transferring 258 MMscfd gas to Kharg Island through a 100 km-length with 24" pipeline
- Reducing the oil density in the refined water by 40 PPM when transferring to the sea
Project Main Activities:
Based on previous Buy-Back contract of Foroozan & Esfandiar oil field development, upstream and seismic studies for the purpose of evaluation of the field potentials, drilling of two appraisal wells, 16 new horizontal wells, and re-entry of 7 existing horizontal Wells were part of the contract. The following activities are extracted from the new contract as the project's scope of work:
- Engineering, construction, installation and commissioning a new platform with water separator facilities and equipments
- Engineering, construction, installation and commissioning a 102 km offshore pipeline from the platform to Kharg Island
- Engineering, construction, installation and commissioning in-field oil process and gas lift pipelines
- Engineering, construction, installation and commissioning a new platform for 70 persons
Description of performed tasks:
- Continuing activities related to detailed engineering and preparing procurement documents
- Starting construction operations of jackets
- Procurement of wellhead platforms required equipments and material
- Completion of coating operations of 24” and 18” pipes(About 8,600 pipes have been coated.)
- Completion of pre-lay survey
