Development Operations, Production Enhancement of Common Fields in Salman Area (Salman Oil & Gas Fields Integrated Development Project)

Location :

Salman field is situated in the Persian Gulf, on the marine border line with the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), 150 km south of Lavan Island.

Scope of work :

• 3-D seismic, geological survey and reservoir modeling studies.
• Drilling and conversion of 16 existing oil production wells into wells with horizontal legs.
• Drilling and conversion of 7 existing wells into water injection wells.
• Drilling one delineation gas well and completing the supplemental work. 
• Drilling 8 new gas wells and work-over an existing well.
• Construction of new gas lifting and production platforms and bridges.
• Laying new submarine infield flow-lines between the platforms. 
• Construction of two gas wellhead platforms, one residential platform, one gas production and processing platform, one flare platform and the connecting bridges.
• Implementing required modifications to enhance the efficiency of existing offshore facilities.
• Construction and installation of gas compression facilities on Sirri Island.
• Construction of a new 220 km, 30" export submarine gas pipeline from the new gas processing platform to platform AP of the United Arab Emirates via Siri Island.

• Increasing crude oil production by 50,000 bpd.

• Production of 500 million cubic feet per day of gas from the gas reservoir.

• Modification to existing Offshore Oil Surface Facilities

  • Completing basic and detailed engineering, inspection, procurement and purchase of required equipment, and repairing or upgrading of the equipment and existing tripod wellhead platforms.

• Drilling Operations

  • Completing drilling and conversion wells as below:

    • Drilling and conversion of 16 existing oil production wells into wells with horizontal legs.

    • Drilling and conversion of 7 existing wells into water injection wells.

    • Drilling one delineation gas well and completing the supplemental work.

    • Drilling 8 new gas wells and work-over an existing well.

     

• Construction and Installation of Offshore and Onshore Surface Facilities

  • Completing fabrication and installation of production (PP3), 2SKB and 2SKC wellhead and flare platforms (jackets and topsides) and connecting bridges.

  • Completing jackets fabrication and installation of gas processing (KPP), residential (LQ3) and gas lifting (GLP) platforms.

  • Completing laying of all submarine infield flow-lines and export gas pipeline (Salman-Siri-AP route).

  • Fabrication of gas processing (KPP), residential (LQ3) and gas lifting (GLP) topsides are in progress.

  • Construction and installation of Sirri Island gas compression facilities is in progress.

Contract Price and Duration :

Project commencement date is 9th August 2000 and project duration for execution of oil and gas activities is 94 months. The buyback project contract price (latest approved capex) is 902 MMUSD.
